Built and led an efficient, three-person design team who successfully shipped two genre-defining products based on new IP ‘Shardfall’ in four years.
Designed and oversaw the implementation of core systems such as combat, traversal and metagame. These delivered on the pillar of ‘high-intensity fitness gaming’, delivering tangible benefits via retention and habituation.
Defined functionality for critical tooling such as Enemy AI state machine, Perk manager and procedural level generation. These adapted intelligently to player ability, providing an evolving experience to match the player’s skill and fitness.
Curated the design wiki, ensuring page clarity, cross-feature visibility and pragmatically prioritised updates.
Collaborated with the telemetry team, using player metrics to tune the game, plan live service updates and pivot the team to a data-validated design flow. Examples include increasing retention and habituation by splitting our tutorial out to multiple sessions while maintaining overall completion rate.
Created workable design strategy, demonstrated by efficiently multiplying our enemy roster with variant types. This increased player perception of variety and discovery while reusing expensive assets.
Contributed towards quarterly studio OKRs and oversaw formulation of Key Results to align the team and track targets.
Oversaw design team hiring, career progression and performance management for reports. Led one-on-ones, quarterly reviews and structured feedback resulting in multiple promotions for reports.
Identified inefficiencies in our development pipelines and implemented demonstrable solutions such as new tooling to clone enemy metadata.
